Swan Market

I was just looking through my pictures and I realised I missed a blog!!! Those of you who have been following my blog for a while might have noticed that i’m not exactly consistent in blogging, which I am trying to fix! Either way better late than never right? (Which reminds me there are gonna be a couple of more old better late than never posts 🙂 )

A while back I went to this Swan Market in Rotterdam with my dear friend Chiara. It was so nice, well except for the weather cause it was freezing and raining… The nice thing though was that it really was a christmas market. We got vin chaud, which is hot wine in french. Its soooo good especially when its cold out! Its a red wine with fruit and some spices, people compare it to a sangria but then hot…

Here is a recipe:
1/4 cup water
10 whole cloves
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3 peppercorns, whole
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (to taste)
1 orange, juiced
1 bottle red wine
Cinnamon sticks (optional)
1/2 cup sugar

1. Combine all ingredients except wine in a pan and boil for five minutes.

2. Reduce heat, add wine. Heat to the point where it is just before boiling. (Try to avoid
boiling; the alcohol will begin to evaporate.)

3. Strain into cups and serve hot.

4. Garnish with cinnamon sticks, if desired.

This is just an example, but there are a bunch of different variations.

We also got a bunch of yummy treats, there was live music. It was all very cosy!
Here are some snapshots of the day:

This couple was soo adorable! I ended up getting two of these. The pittige pompoenenboter, and the  pruimen ketchup! Super yummy of wasa crackers with some cheese for example!

This is the super delish lamb burger that I had with mint, rucula, onions and a yoghurt sauce… TO DIE FOR!!
